{"id":206,"date":"2012-12-06T10:17:18","date_gmt":"2012-12-06T18:17:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fhtw.biz\/wp\/?p=206"},"modified":"2020-12-13T12:03:57","modified_gmt":"2020-12-13T20:03:57","slug":"there-is-a-better-way-to-hire-the-right-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.targetsuccess.biz\/wp\/?p=206","title":{"rendered":"There IS a Better Way to Hire the Right People"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>There is a better way to hire the <em>right<\/em> people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Companies hired people who looked great on paper, only to find they couldn\u2019t deliver because they didn\u2019t <em>fit<\/em> in.<\/li>\n<li>They spent a huge amount of time (and money) to land the right person, only to have them leave early on.<\/li>\n<li>All too often, candidates didn\u2019t even show up for interviews, or for their first shift after paid training.<\/li>\n<li>If they did stay on, the damage to employee morale or the reputation of the company was disastrous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We changed the game.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->We started with a few <em>new<\/em> rules:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Ditch the resume. There\u2019s no correlation between the information it contains (even if it <em>is<\/em> truthful), and how long a person will stay or how productive they\u2019ll be.<\/li>\n<li>Measure what matters. Focus on <em>fit<\/em> first. Since most companies find themselves hiring for experience and firing for fit\u2026 maybe we should change the starting point.<\/li>\n<li>Let the <em>candidate<\/em> do some of the work. Job boards and other tools have made it too easy for candidates to spam their resumes out to hundreds of companies they\u2019ve probably never heard of and certainly haven\u2019t researched. Stop wasting time on candidates who have no skin in the game!<\/li>\n<li>Focus your attention on the objectivity of the candidates talents, not the subjectivity of how they look.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our clients come from diverse industries, mainly from referrals and word of mouth. Those who like us, like us a lot!! They count on us as thought leaders because we get them thinking about conventional problems in unconventional ways. We believe that every company desires to hire the RIGHT people so their company becomes GREAT!!<\/p>\n<p>Having said that, please <em>don\u2019t<\/em> call us if you\u2019re not prepared to try a different approach to solving your problem.
